The round table dedicated to life and work of Omar Beiguaa was held at the Abkhaz National Library.

The round table dedicated to life and work of the well-known Abkhaz scientist, poet, public figure and holder of the first degree order "Akhdz-Apsha" Omar B. Beiguaa was held in Sukhum at the initiative of “International Fund Apsny”. This year, he would have turned 115 years old.

The round table, organized by “International Fund Apsny” was attended by Mahunir Papaapkha, who, personally was acquainted and working with Omar Beiguaa. She made best efforts to preserve his works. Mahunir was officially invited from Turkey to take part at the round table.

The round table was attended by public agents, state and public figures, Chairman of Federation of Abkhaz cultural centers in Turkey Ahmet Hapat, and lovers of Omar Beiguaa creative work.

The grandfather of Beguaa Omar Hassan was among those Abkhazians (Muhajirs), who was forcefully displaced from Abkhazia in 1877-1878. Abkhaz people, who were forced to leave Sukhum, were landed in Kefken. Exhausted by road and severe diseases, thousands of people died on their way. Among the Abkhaz survivors in a foreign land were Bairam Beiguaa and Mkyd Shamba. After all, they got married. On July 1, 1901, in the family of Bairam Beiguaa, in Abkhaz village in Turkey, which was called Haji-Suleimanbey village, a talented Omar was born.  Abkhazians, living in Turkey considered him a morning star which had arisen in the sky. Later, they were proudly calling him "our leader".

There are so many works of Omar Beiguaa, which haven’t been published yet. He appealed to our compatriot Mahinur Papaapkha, living in Turkey: Please make my books known in Abkhazia, try to accomplish things I couldn’t complete”. This request was fulfilled.

Opening the meeting, the head of Apsuara Committee Oktay Chkotua told the audience about life and work of Omar Beiguaa. The President of “International Fund Apsny” Sener Gogua expressed his gratitude to attendees and presented mementos to Mahinut Papaapkha and Chairman of Abkhaz cultural centers Federation Ahmet Hapat on behalf of the Fund.
