Memory Day of the first President - Vladislav Ardzinba

This year, on the 14th of May, a prominent statesman and politician, founder of the modern Abkhazian state, prominent scientist-orientalist, the first President of the Republic of Abkhazia, Vladislav Ardzinba would have turned 70 years. Vladislav was the first in the war and in the peacetime. His wisdom, fortitude, political talent, unshakable firmness in achieving this goal had united the people during the war and in the difficult postwar years of blockade. Vladislav Ardzinba was not just ruling the state – he rallied and united his people, showing infinite love for his people.
His name is linked to the most important value wan by the republic, which is peace and independence. His name is inscribed in the history of Abkhazia forever and it will remain eternally in the memory of our people.
