On March 15, 1932 a National writer of the Republic of Abkhazia Alexey Gogua was born.

An outstanding Abkhaz writer, a hero of the quill was honored at the office of the public organization the International Fund “Apsny” on the occasion of 84th anniversary.

The writer was accompanied by the chief editor of "Alashara" magazine Anatoly Lagulaa.

"I had to oppose and fight at every turn, but I was able to hold out and live up to these days. Spiritually, we are very strong people. We were able to build up our own state. I love my people and always ready to serve it. We are nation, we are a family. This small nation, which managed not to lose its own language – is a self-sufficient nation, and consequently, will not disappear, "- said Alexey Gogua, remembering the traversed path in life.

The President and staff of the International Fund “Apsny" wished Alexey Gogua good health and unquenchable inspiration.

"Our land begets bright people. Your great talent of the writer - the artist in words, a profound intellect, allowed to express our nation’s spiritual life in your works.

In casual conversation the writer talked about his life, shared his creative plans, noting that at present he is working on two novels which will be soon introduced to readers.

On behalf of the International Fund “Apsny" Alexey Gogua was presented gifts.

Dmitri Gulia State prize laureate, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Abkhazia, Academician of the Adyga Academy of Sciences, Alexey Gogua was an active participant in the national liberation movement of our people. Author of numerous immortal short stories, novels, essays, works on history, culture and literature. The most striking works are: Novel "Halo", "Big Snow", "Snow and Lightning" The works have been translated into Russian and many other foreign languages. Currently, Alexey Gogua heads the commission of the Dmitry Gulia State Prize.
