The contest-exhibition of professional artists of Abkhazia "The Strokes of Time", was held in Sukhum.

The exhibition of professional artists of Abkhazia “The Strokes of Time”, organized by the International Fund “Apsny” was held in Sukhum, in the hall of the State Museum of the Republic of Abkhazia. The exhibition was devoted to the 70th anniversary of the first President of the Republic of Abkhazia Vladislav G. Ardzinba.

Opening the exhibition, the representative of the International Fund “Apsny” Guram Amkuab told about the activities of the Fund and stressed the importance of an organized exhibition:

"The priority directions of the Fund’s activity are:  economy, demography, as well as the promotion of Abkhazian culture, Abkhazian language, traditions, customs and Apsuara. Abkhazian artists take a special place in the development of national culture "- said Guram Amkuab.

Art critic Elena Labakhua thanked the leadership and staff of the Fund for organization of the abovementioned exhibition.

In his welcoming speech, the President of the International Fund “Apsny" Sener Gogua stressed that the event is dedicated to the first President of the Republic of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba, whose memory will live in the hearts of future generations, and whose personal contribution to the formation and development of our statehood is invaluable.

"We are planning to hold events dedicated to memory of Vladislav G.Ardzinba in the future. Great state and political figure who earned the love of his people, Vladislav Ardzinba, will always be our guiding light, "- stressed Sener Gogua in his speech.

The winner of the contest was the work of a famous artist of Abkhazia Batal Dzhapua "Composition". On behalf of the Fund the winner received an honorary certificate and a cash prize at the rate of 50 thousand rubles. The second Prize at the rate of 30 thousand rubles went to the artist Adgur Ampar for the painting "Composition # 38", and the third prize – to Ruslan Chkhamaliya for a portrait "Farmworker".
