Representatives of "International Fund Apsny" visited the new Chairman of Council of Elders of Abkhazia Apollon Shinkuba.

The hero of Abkhazia-Apollon Shinkuba is a well-known person in Abkhazia. People listen to his words, his opinion is respected, and his contribution to the national liberation movement of our people is immeasurable. All his life, Apollon was taking up military and government posts; today he is active in social activities.

A few days ago, Apollon Shinkuba was elected to the position of the Chairman of Council of Elders. In this regard, representatives of public organization "International Fund Apsny" Oktay Chkotua, Sirma Ashuba and Simon Agrba paid a visit to the office of the Council of Elders to congratulate the new Chairman, they wished him good health and success in his work.

The Fund staff informed the Chairman of the Council of Elders about the Fund activities on Apsuara issues and support of Abkhaz language and culture, and discussed the possibility of implementing joint projects in this direction. Apollon Shinkuba shared plans about his intentions to intensify the work of the Council of Elders, primarily in the direction of expansion of contacts with other public organizations, and expressed a great interest in development of cooperation with our Fund.

At the end of the meeting, the Fund presented gifts to the new Chairman of the Council of Elders.
